Since I started yoga in 1998, it's hard to recall one week, where I haven't practised or gone to a class. As I sit in an office for on average 8 hours a day, Monday-Friday, I like to open and stretch in my practice. I like to flow, twist, fold forward and back, go upside down and come out of my head and into my body. I love the stillness and space the practice offers and the gratitude the acceptance that comes from the ultimate bliss of shavasana (deep relaxation).
Over the years, my yoga journey has led me to some amazing teachers and masters of Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Yin Yoga, Anusara Yoga, Jivakmukti yoga. In 2008, I took my practice to the next level and completed my first teacher training with the Yoga Therapy and Training Centre (Dublin).
In 2012, I completed a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher training with "Its Yoga International". In 2014, I qualified as a Yoga Therapist with Yoga Therapy Ireland. Sometimes a teacher, but always a student, I continue to attend classes and workshops. I am presently studying with Its Yoga International to complete my Yoga Alliance 500 hours advanced training.
My classes are based on Rocket Yoga (a strong ashtanga – vinyasa flow). A fun, creative flow class where you use your breath, mind and body to flow through sun salutations, strong standing postures, arm balances, inversions, backbends, twists and seated folds. I love to share this transformational practice where students can challenge and explore through breath and movement their own potentials, listen to their own hearts and experience their own yoga journey. I believe the goal of yoga is not to be a contortionist but to enjoy the body we have and experience the strength and vitality of our own breath, energy and spirit.
